The engineering function is comprised of six technical guilds: API, Platforms, Front End, ML & Data Science, Backend Services, and Data Solutions Engineering. The objective of the API Guild is to craft and build a federated API layer to decouple all client needs from microservices which host data or services. This will support all serving of data to client side needs; including web and mobile applications, machine learning services, reporting services and data systems. This function will be responsible for modernizing existing data consumption interfaces, as well as building new endpoints by employing a microservice architecture scalable patters and open source languages and frameworks for continuous change and expansion. You will also have the opportunity to influence architecture and the technology stack to promote quality and innovation vital for industry changing experiences.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

Collaborate with application teams, machine learning teams and data teams to design reusable and scalable patterns for serving data, and facilitating communication between microservices or triggering event based jobs.

Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to embed role based access control (RBAC) into all API authentication systems.

Setup documentation and systems to allow other engineering teams to contribute to the federated API gateway by authoring API's, registering API's, deprecating API's and facilitating continuous change.

Implement continuous, real-time monitoring systems for API usage, response times, load testing, blue-green deployments, penetration testing.

Own and take responsibility for the health and uptime of API's in production.

Modernize and transform legacy interfaces into modern architecture, to digitize and monetize our ecosystem.
