Pay Rate: $50-55/hour
POSITION SUMMARY: The API Inspector is responsible for performing API inspections, identify inspection locations, perform visual inspections as identified or requested by the client. This position is located on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska and must permanently live locally in the area near Kenai, AK. Relocation packages are available if the right candidate doesn’t live local to Kenai, AK and would be willing to move permanently to Kenai, AK.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
Interact with the client and contractor personnel to align schedule requirements with business needs. Performing inspection location identification / piping walk-downs / visual inspections / CUI susceptible area identification as required. Manage data as required for work processes. Execute plans for completion of work assigned to facility area of responsibility. Submit and process change sheet requests as needed for proper data alignment. Flawless adherence to company and client procedures and policies. Ensure that Quality of assigned work is performed to the highest level for all area of control. Effective communication with customer to ensure 100% customer satisfaction with overall project.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
5 years experience performing visual inspections. Current API 570 and API 510 Certification. Ability to read P&ID’s Ability to follow and draft standard piping isometric drawings Strong understanding of NDT techniques, applications and limitations Ability to prepare and review formal inspection reports Ability to provide mentoring and other feedback as necessary to personnel within AOR Experience working with an Inspection Data Management System. Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel. Exceptional safety record Team building capabilities Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and trainable in “database” programs) Strong knowledge of process equipment Strong organizational skillsPREFERED ATTRIBUTES
Current API-653 certifications with working experience Current level I or higher Rope Access certification (IRATA or SPRAT AWS-CWI Basic understanding of damage mechanisms associated with upstream operationsESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs Must be able to tolerate working in extreme climates (subzero temperatures) for extended periods of time Must be able to tolerate numerous hours spent stooping, crawling, kneeling, standing and walking. Must be comfortable working in cramped or confined spaces.
