Research Development Co-op Overview:

JJ RD encompasses the development of sophisticated materials, process improvements, risk management and mechanical testing through the development process across all sectors including Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Consumer and Corporate/Enterprise.

Life as an RD Co-op:

The RD Co-op program provides each student with real-life hands-on experience, receiving coaching and mentoring, networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to meet people from various schools throughout the country. Each Co-op will be assigned to a single function with a specific project for the 6-month term.

The typical Co-op term is from Jan 2025 – Jun 2025.

Be trained and directly involved in developing drug substance processes for new antibody based therapeutics.This project will focus on new technology within the Downstream development group. This coop will work in the lab to develop a new mode of operation for antibody chromatography focusing on defining the operating space for the step and linkage to the entire DSP process. Additionally, efforts focused on data aggregation and process modelling will be performed as time allows.Participate in technical discussions on experimental design to fill gaps in knowledge.Maintain a laboratory notebook and other technical documents according to required guidelines.Provide other project support as needed.

Chemical engineering, biological engineering, biomedical engineering, and related majors are preferred.Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelor’s or equivalent experience, Master’s, or PhD degree or equivalent experience. Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.Completion of Undergraduate Freshmen year at an accredited University is required.Experience and Skills:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is requiredExcellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferredAbility to balance multiple projects and initiatives while performing resultsMust be a self-starter works independently while supplying to the team goalsProven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired Preferred:For students pursuing their Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, Juniors or Seniors are preferred.Students with basic laboratory skills and experience in research, experimental design execution, coding languages (Python/R), data analysis, and hands-on experience in the biopharmaceutical industry are preferred.
