PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for addressing inbox content for clinicians in a specified region, including tasks such as patient telephone and portal messages, provide telehealth patient care as needed, addressing documents, medication refills, and referral requests. Assist nurse triage and MA document management tasks as time allows. May need to flex roles and responsibilities to different regions as licensure allows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work collaboratively with other roles in the Inbox Management Team to review and sign requested documentation from patients and families including but not limited to school/sports/camp forms, letters of medical necessity, DME approvals, and Plans of Care.
Review new referral requests and referral renewals for patients, by reviewing in office clinician documentation and communicate with referral team if referral may be processed or patient scheduling team if appointment is needed.
Collaborate with Medial Assistant intake staff and triage RNs to answer more complex telephone and portal messages via portal or telephone as per protocol
Identify need for telehealth or office appointments and communicate with support and scheduling teams to schedule patient appropriately.
Address medication refill requests evaluating if prescription can be sent and message resolved or communicating with scheduling team if appointment if needed. This includes but not limited to oral contraception, chronic care prescriptions as well as ADHD prescriptions depending on region.
Review consult notes from specialists, ensure chart problem list is updated and PCP is communicated with as needed.
Provide back up support to the PCPs in the offices for assistance with urgent requests including but not limited to radiology call backs, ER call backs, critical lab review.
Review lab results and contact patients with result and medical advice, document appropriately in the EMR.
Follow all clinical guidelines as outlined within PA structures.
Build positive collaborative relationship with all Inbox Management Team, Regional and Enterprise clinical leadership, clinicians and staff.
Provide compassionate and excellent care and communication with patients and families.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Successful completion of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
Physician Assistants must have passed the PANCE certification exam and maintain ongoing certification with PANRE
Nurse Practitioners must be certified by the ANCC or PNCB
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years of experience providing direct pediatric primary care
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION:
Current, unrestricted license in the state of practice required
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Must provide verification of eligibility to work in the United States
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to manage multiple clinical tasks efficiently and effectively.
Ability to provide compassionate and clear communication.
Knowledge of all Compliance documents including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, Compliance Plan, and OSHA Binder.
Proficiency in the use of appropriate computer software and hardware.
Ability to perform job with minimum supervision.
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that other specialties are included in the healthcare plan.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Working in a remote and/or medical office environment
