Shift As assigned Job Summary The abdominal transplant APP supervisor reports directly to the APP Director of Surgery and works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team.
This position works clinically as an APP and administratively as a supervisor. The Supervisor role includes management of schedules, oversight of APPs, and direct communication with APP Director.
The transplant APP generally functions to provide pre, intra, and post operative transplant care. This includes all levels of care where the APP manages the critical care aspects of the assigned patients intensive care stay from admission to transfer to discharge back to clinic. The abdominal transplant APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and ensuring an environment of safe quality care.
The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
