Required License/Registration/Certification Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) Physical Requirements Lifting pushing, or pulling objects up to 50lbs. Shift Monday through Friday, no call, no nights, minimum 40 hours per week . Job Summary The Advanced Practice Provider Orthopedic Surgical First Assistant (APP) works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP functions as a member of the orthopedic surgical management team.

This requires management of all aspects of patients from admission to discharge. The APP is integral in the operating room in collaboration with the attending surgeon.

In some service lines the APP may perform the pre, intra op, post op and follow up care. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and ensuring an environment of safe quality care. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Clinical knowledge, professionalism, effective communication skills . Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience PA or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner preferred. Previous musculoskeletal/oncology care experience preferred, but not required .
