The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking an Appian Developer to perform a variety of duties in connection with agile software development, design, planning, implementation, testing and support for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of Aviation Safety applications using FAA’s Appian low-code development platform.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

Develop and implement the Appian and web-based applications, building Appian based application as well as associated integration components in JavaSolve highly complex technical problems using Appian and other supporting platforms, problem Solver and ability to estimate and size Appian business requirementsCoach others on technical best practices, provide technical guidance to mid-level developers Foster a positive team environment focused on advanced technical knowledge, effective collaboration, and positive customer outcomesAssist with adding top talent to our team by participating in candidate interviewsResearch, develop, and implement new tools to speed up and simplify application developmentWork with business users to translate business requirements into technical designsAttend meetings related to the Office of Investigations and Professional Responsibility (AXI) or other program activities.Utilize various data collection and analysis tools and scripting languages to create and validate data sets used by analysts. Require mastery level technical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience

Basic Qualifications:

B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field/degreeAppian development experience, demonstrated subject matter expertise with the Appian platform and related technologies Experience in Object Oriented programming languages primarily Java, ideally in the context of Appian plugins, experience in working with JSON, XML & RESTful APIProven ability to coach and mentor technical staffExcellent problem-solving skills and talent for identifying creative solutionsAbility to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical groups, both internal and externalAbility to interface with Architects, customers, and technical personnel to understand business processes and system requirementsAbility to develop and maintain customer relationships. Ability to interact diplomatically with a variety of individuals on all levels.Must have the ability to obtain a public trust suitability clearance.To qualify, you will have to be a US citizen or permanent resident and resided in the US for a minimum of 3 consecutive years.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of Appian development experience, demonstrated subject matter expertise with the Appian platform and related technologies (e.g. Appian Lead Developer certification)Understand the differences between basic design principles in integrating to Web Services5+ years’ experience in Object Oriented programming languages primarily Java, ideally in the context of Appian plugins, experience in working with JSON, XML & RESTful API3+ years of experience in an agile delivery environmentPrevious FAA and/or Government contracting work experience.

Pay Range:Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
