GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
The Appian Senior Engineer role is primarily responsible for building and deploying applications on the Appian platform. The candidate will have extensive experience in application design, process modeling, and integration using Appian. The Senior Engineer will play a key role in designing and developing high-quality, scalable Appian applications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Design, develop, and deploy Appian applications that meet business requirements and align with best practices.
+ Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
+ Create process models, expression rules, SAIL interfaces, and integrations using the Appian platform.
+ Participate in Agile ceremonies and work in an Agile environment.
+ Design and develop database objects and write quality SQL code.
+ Perform unit testing and support user acceptance testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
+ Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to junior developers to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, optimizing performance and scalability.
+ Stay current with the latest Appian features, updates, and industry trends to enhance the platform's capabilities.
+ Document technical designs, configurations, and procedures to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing.
+ Participate in project planning, estimation, and status reporting activities.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of experience developing applications on the Appian platform.
+ Proficiency in Appian versions 20.x or later, with hands-on experience in application design, process modeling, business rules, and integrations.
+ Strong understanding of Appian architecture and best practices for application development. Hands-on experience writing Appian Plugins (Smart Services, Function Plugins, and Servlet Plugins) Connected Systems, and Component UI Plugins & API integration.
+ Experience with relational databases and proficiency in SQL programming.
+ Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
+ Appian certification(s) (e.g., Appian Certified Senior Developer, Appian Certified Associate Developer) is preferred.
+ Experience with web services (SOAP/REST), SQL, and other integration technologies is a plus.
