**Your role and responsibilities**
As a Enterprise Architect in IBM Consulting, you'll serve as a leader in defining solutions for clients. You'll be the advocate for the client while guiding the technical team to implementation.
You'll collaborate with client stakeholders and internal partners to understand the business problem and requirements, constraints of the system and concerns of the various stakeholders to systematically transform detailed solutions (architectures) for the client.
Your primary responsibilities include:
· Strategic Analysis and Modernized Solution Design: Analyse and translate IT requirements using modernization frameworks into components of a modernized solution.
· Optimize Modernization Assets and Methods: Reuse and enhance Digital modernization assets, methods, and collateral.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
Strong skill’s expected in cloud platforms (Private and Public), microservices architecture, APIs, and container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
· Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and architecture methodologies
· Strong understanding of cloud computing, data architecture, cybersecurity principles, and regulatory environments
· Experience with digital transformation, microservices, DevOps, and CI/CD practices
· Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
· Proven track record of driving technology innovation and managing enterprise-level projects
· Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
· Knowledge of IT governance, regulatory requirements, and compliance
· Hands-on experience in modern technologies such as AI/ML, Datalake, IoT, and big data analytics
· Exposure to Agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional, collaborative teams
· Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns, SOA, and event-driven architectures
· Develop, implement, and maintain an enterprise architecture framework that aligns with business objectives and IT strategies.
· Design and oversee the implementation of complex IT solutions, ensuring they meet both functional and non-functional requirements
· Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and practices to enhance system scalability, reliability, and security.
· Provide guidance to squad leads / technical leads and development teams on system design, integration, and deployment
· Oversee the delivery of solution architectures for major IT projects and ensure consistency with enterprise architecture principles
· Ensure all architectural documentation and technical specifications are complete and current
· Lead the evaluation and selection of appropriate technology platforms, tools, and services, such as cloud, AI, microservices, containerization, and DevOps
· Drive innovation by identifying emerging trends, conducting proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and determining their fit for the organization
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
Work with cybersecurity teams to ensure systems are secure, reliable, and compliant with regulatory requirements
· Establish architecture review boards (ARBs) to ensure that architectural guidelines and standards are enforced and drive this along with customer counter-parts
· Develop and manage the architecture repository to capture knowledge and best practices across internal IBM and Customer teams
· Continuously refine and improve architecture governance processes
