Application Development Engineer for Metrology Applications (m/f/x)

ZEISS is shaping technological progress and through its solutions is extending the horizon of the world of multidimensional metrology solutions and associated areas. 

Working within the Industrial Quality Solutions (IQS) department, at ZEISS, we are looking for a highly motivated Application Development Engineer to work within our teams.

You will join the international team developing application solutions for best-in-class measurement machines used for industrial quality control.

Furthermore, the following will await you with us:

Develop solutions to solve metrology and inspection tasks for multisensory systems

Utilize multisensory metrology systems with tactile and optical sensors

Deep dive in metrology tasks for dimensional, rough- and waviness applications with focus on multisensory applications

Consulting of customers in direct client contact with product demos, feasibility studies and projects

Close cooperation with global R&D team to develop hardware and software according to the market requirements with focus on new customer segments

Develop processes for quality inspection and production steering by usage of new sensor systems as well as software

What we expect from you:

University degree in the field of engineering sciences such as mechanical engineering, physics or comparable

Minimum three years of experience in the field of metrology and quality assurance with manual devices such as articulating arms

Experience in usage of mathematical methods for evaluation of acquired sensor data as well as appropriate tools such as, e.g., MATLAB

Fluent English skills both spoken and written

Knowledge about technical drawings, GD&T and engineering documentations

High skills in presentation and documentation

Work in the first year two weeks per month in Oberkochen, travel expenses are covered by ZEISS. Remaining two weeks will be remote.
