Position Title: Application Engineer – Switchboards
Salary: $ 121,701 to $131,000 per year
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week
Summary of Duties: Provide design and specification development support to sales, BDMs, consultants, and distributors. Provide technical support and guidance to the team to ensure that all customer requirements are met in a timely manner and support other Siemens business, supplier and internal/external customers. This will include the review of customer drawings along with a final review prior to the completion of engineering on all complex jobs. Provide engineering support to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives, making recommendations after the analysis of the data. Perform technical/ product training for sales, BDMs, consultants and distributors. Review Switchboards at order entry to ensure they are buildable by code and meet customer design requirements. Resolve customer issues with switchboards and offer design solutions at order entry if design cannot be built as submitted. Maintain professional business relationships within target accounts. Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future emerging technologies. Remote work permitted. 15% travel within the United States.
Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as a Switchboard Sales, Switchboard Bid Coordinator, Switchboard Project Manager, or an acceptable alternate occupation. Will alternately accept Five (5) years of experience with the Siemens Switchboard product and five (5) years configuring switchboard products in COMPAS with a demonstrated proficiency. The position requires experience with the following: Two years’ experience with switchboards; Strong technical knowledge in electrical and mechanical design- ability to interpret and understand technical product specifications; ability to read architectural, mechanical and electrical blueprints; and have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems. Remote work permitted.
