Application Engineer
Participates in the entire software development lifecycle, with a primary focus on evergreen support of existing software solutions requiring significant knowledge of enabled business domain, workflows and processes. Chevron’s Business Support Center (BASSC), located in Buenos Aires is accepting applications for the position of Application Engineer. Successful candidates will join the IT Organization which is part of a multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 1500 employees that deliver business services and solutions to the corporation across the globe. This position plays an active role in the software development lifecycle with a primary focus on maintaining vendor software, optimizing evergreen support (through configuration, automation, and integration) and supporting in-house developed applications. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: + Analyze and evaluate IT systems and processes to identify areas for improvement. + Design and implement efficient IT solutions to meet business requirements in collaboration with technical teams. + Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document system requirements. + Perform system testing and validation procedures. + Provide technical support and training to end-users. + Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues. + Maintain and update system documentation. + Ensure data security and compliance with company policies. + Build and support low code solutions. + Build and/or enhance integrations with our core trading systems, Endur and RightAngle to source data to our Trading Compliance applications. + Build and/or enhance integrations with ZEMA, our pricing aggregator of market price and internal price data sources for our core Trading systems. + Design, build and maintain PowerPlatform tools (canvas/model driven PowerApps, Flows, PowerBI, Dataverse) used to support Trading Compliance functions and/or provide data to other IT applications to meet business needs. + Build data sets and visualization using standard tools; primarily Power BI, Spotfire, SQL views. + Build data quality scrips necessary for data integrity across environments (SIT/Dev/UAT/Prod). Required Qualifications: + Hands on experience developing or supporting solutions using Microsoft tools (.Net, SQL, Power Platform). + Proficient communication and facilitation skills with solid ability to convey business and technical information to a diverse audience. + Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to engage difficulties with persistence. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + API experience, Data Mapping, Power Bi, Power Apps, Power Flows, etc. + Experience with SaaS applications. + Ability to communicate with business to understand, gather, and document requirements. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience working with agile methodologies. + Experience with Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps. + Familiarity with integration patterns (API, Messaging). + Familiarity with (any of these) RightAngle, Endur, Zema, Enovia. + Familiarity with (any of these) ERP (SAP), CRM (Salesforce), Procurement systems (GEP), HCM (Workday). + Ability to understand or write complex queries related to Microsoft SQL views, stored procedures & tables (Microsoft SQL Server Mgt. Studio). Relocation Options: Relocation will not be considered. International Considerations: Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
