**Application Engineer - SPIDA** **Focus:** Product Specialist – SPIDAcalc, SPIDAsilk, SPIDAstudio **Description** Bentley is searching for an Application Engineer for its SPIDA brand of products, including SPIDAcalc, SPIDAsilk and SPIDAstudio. An Application Engineer is a product specialist that is part of the Solution Engineering team and is responsible for preparing content, datasets, and presentations that are delivered to users and potential users to showcase product capabilities. Application Engineers strive to understand user requirements, use cases, and workflows, which are documented for use within the rest of the organization. By developing a unique relationship and understanding of both Bentley products and solutions, as well as the user needs, an Application Engineer plays a key role in our ability to leverage that knowledge in Account Advancement (capture motion), User Advancement (success motion) and Product Advancement (product development motion). Application Engineers can work autonomously on most types of engagements but will need support for more complex engagements, based on complexity of the assignment, type of audience, etc. **Primary Tasks** + Serve as the technical liaison for Account Advancement and User Success teams. + Create effective presentations and demonstrations that illustrate the capabilities, workflows, and value of Bentley applications to users. + Develop and prepare datasets for user presentations and demonstrations. + Engage directly with users to conduct discovery sessions and define requirements. + Develop content (i.e., videos) that can be delivered in one-to-one or one-to-many modes. + Deliver presentations and provide support for corporate sales and marketing events. + Contribute to written proposal development and submission. + Prepare and recommend scope of services for User Success to implement. + Provide timely feedback on user interactions to improve sales and marketing efforts. + Prepare and deliver relevant feedback to Product Teams to improve our products (from product issues to user needs). + Work with Product teams to stay up to date with current releases of Bentley applications. + Contribute to the Bentley Communities by posting application tips and/or answering user questions. + Understand industry design standards, safety codes, and analysis methodologies to provide recommendations for conformant product configurations. + Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge. + Represent Bentley and SPIDA products at conferences **Skills and Experience** + Background in electric utility and/or telecommunications industry with direct experience working in engineering, design, and/or joint use processes. + Strong functional knowledge of overhead line design or pole-loading analysis using SPIDA, PLS-CADD or similar products and services; power-user level. + Outstanding speaking, presentation, and demonstration skills. + Ability to explain complex topics to audiences of all levels of knowledge and seniority. + Independent judgment, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills. + Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new complex products. + Excellent organizational and time management skills. + Effectively collaborate with teams leveraging communication and project management to define objectives and deliver focus.
