Description This position will be working on the applications engineering team, and will focus on their powertrain automation systems/equipment. The main customers they will be supporting will be their OEM business, GM, Ford, Stellantis. They will be responsible for going after new business and generating relationships with customers. They will be expected to be able to accurately quote and bid on projects. They should be able to understand automations lines and retooling projects to understand what is going to to be needed for the project and have the technical knowledge to draw up designs and put together quotes. These projects are usually large projects as well costing anywhere from $500k to multi millions. This will require a basic understanding of controls engineering as well as manufacturing processes. These processes will be involved in powertrain production; transmissions, engines, and the components going onto these types of products. These processes can include - gripping, pressing. screwing , gluing, and other various processes. They will have robotics involved in these processes. This role will require a heavy amount of customer interaction as well as interactions with vendors. They will need to be able to think on their feet and speak up in meetings. They should be able to listen to quotes and understand if they are reasonable or not, and also be able to put out bids that will make sense. They will be responsible for selecting equipment, calling vendors to gather pricing, putting together comprehensive proposals that detail all BOM's and Engineering procedures and functions.
