Application Engineer

Job Summary:

The Application Engineer will assist customers by identifying the best solution for their application, offering and selling comprehensive product solutions from the Flow Controls portfolio. This role involves providing commercial and technical support to customers and consistently striving to deliver the highest standards of customer service while collaborating with peers, Outside Sales, Service Engineers, Business Managers, etc.

The Application Engineer will be based in Emerson, Qatar, handling key customers based in Qatar & Kuwait.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Provide Applications Engineering, Technical and Pricing Support to Qatar & Kuwait customers, including technical presentations, site walkdowns. Sizing and selection of control valves and other FCV products and review project specifications to prepare deviations list. Prepare customer quotations that are timely, technically accurate, commercially verified, offering the best all-round solution. Engage in direct customer technical sales calls, order close outs, site walkdowns and prepare reports. Co-ordinate with GIS / engineering team for root-cause analysis and getting solution for severe service applications and sophisticated products and submit to customer with detailed technical solution / presentation. Follow-up on quotations with customers and outside sales team until we get the purchase order. Ensure that purchase orders are commercially and technically compliant before processing for order entry in accordance with relevant procedures and enter the accurate orders to respective factories for order processing. Co-ordinate with Project Management / Order Entry / Customer Order Fulfillment (COF) team to provide clean orders to factories and liaise with customers for post order supports and documentation. Collaborate and support Flow Control Sales Manager and Application Manager to meet the Sales budget for Northern region in line with agreed departmental important metrics (Hit Rate/Budget). Maintain the records and information’s in the Emerson tools such as Share point, CRM, etc. Align with local and international Emerson Trade Compliance and Quality Management procedures, as well as the Emerson Ethics policy, with respect to all business activities. Keep up to date with developments in products, industries and market trends.

For this Role, You Will Need:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Instrumentation/Mechanical/Chemical) or equivalent 3 to 5 years of experience in the process control industry including control valve products and applications

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Experience in control valve sizing and selection tools and Fisher FF2 sizing tool! Knowledgeable in industrial standards for control valves design, manufacturing, testing processes. Excellent interpretation skills relating to engineering details and P&ID drawings. Experience in selling control valve products/services to HC, Chemical & Petrochemical end-users.
