This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your technical knowledge, communication skills and problem-solving skills to resolve complex problems. The expectation for this position is that the candidate has working knowledge of mechanical pipe joining systems, mechanical piping applications, and customer interactions. Also expected to possess foundational knowledge of commercial and national industry standards, codes and industry organizations. The successful candidate will be exposed to Victaulic processes, Project Management, Product Management, and Product Development. Responsibilities:Work to become a knowledgeable resource for Victaulic products and system solutions by:Learning and understanding Victaulic’s line of products including, but not limited to couplings, valves, fittings, catalog components and devices. Using the knowledge gained, develop solutions to a variety of complex situations that require independent judgment and ingenuity and a quick response.Utilize knowledge of commercial mechanical systems and municipal water/wastewater systems and the key components of those systems.Utilize knowledge of applicable codes and standards including ASME, AWWA, API, ASTM and UL. Address direct customer inquiries regarding Victaulic product features, benefits, and applications. Provide technical and troubleshooting support for customers utilizing Victaulic products by:Communicating and working directly with customers by phone, email, letters, and supervised job site visitsProvide technical support as necessary to customers visiting Victaulic Utilize technical knowledge and investigative skills to complete product investigations and troubleshooting. Evaluate returned product and generate reports for customers detailing root cause analysis Provide engineering consulting support to sales organization and address technical applications for Victaulic Products to customers, owners, specifiers, code officials, and installers. This includes telephone and written correspondence to address customers’ technical inquiries and investigating field installations as to product usage and performance. Serve as the “customer advocate” resource to product developmental engineers, marketing, manufacturing and executive management on product issues and new product or service opportunities. Share your product and/or application experiences with the decision makers in the processes that effect product development or direction decisions. Conduct training sessions and presentations with domestic and international Victaulic employees, sales personnel, and customers to educate them on the features, benefits, and appropriate application of our products and services. When appropriate, visit customers’ facilities to address technical inquiries and host training/educational seminars. Serve as an internal resource on industry market space, competitor products, and product issues. Capture competitive intelligence and industry information on an ongoing basis. Identify training opportunities to improve Victaulic products, solutions, and education. Qualifications:Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or other relevant technical experiences. 10+ years of industry experience required. Experience with problem solving in person or using electronic means (Facetime, Zoom, etc.).Aptitude in using various hand tools (socket sets, screwdrivers, impact wrenches) and precision measurement tools (dial caliper).Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.Willingness to travel up to 30-40% of time domestically, possibility of international travelCapable of lifting within OSHA approved safe lifting limits and climbing/working on ladders and scaffolds. Valid current driver's license with no restrictions to driving.Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills, tact, and professional appearance required.Experience working with commercial mechanical industry customers in promotional and troubleshooting activities preferred.Ability to work proactively, independently, and manage your time effectively.Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneouslyExperience preparing clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written technical materials.
