Application Engineer Intern

This person continually collaborates with Applications, Technology, Systems and Software groups to ensure that system requirements are well understood, developed, integrated and thoroughly tested. Due to the extensive integration of hardware and software in all company products the successful Application Specialist develops detailed in-depth understanding of the application of our tools and the implications of using and testing software when sophisticated hardware interactions are at stake. **General responsibilities:** + Demonstrates good independent judgment and to develop creative ways or in selecting known methods and techniques for acquiring solutions. + The ability to build and maintain the positive and encouraging working climate. + Acts as an advisor to peers and project resources to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. + Ensures that activities are carried out according to the principle of “Customer focus in all that we do” + Networks with internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. + Other duties as assigned **Specific responsibilities are:** + Perform TEM evaluation of prepared lamellae as assigned + Provide test reports from the performed measurements + Understand the customer needs + Handle customer samples, data and related information + Maintain and nurture pool of electron microscopy, focused ion beam and microanalysis expertise (technology, methodology) for Material Science and Semiconductor markets + Support delivery of marketing and sales collateral to the Product Marketing group + Follow the effective documents IMS, EMS and managing documentations **The Requirements** This position is ideal for a university student with a technical background (e.g. Physics, Engineering, Material Science).
