SCOPE OF ROLE:
Provides reliable technical assistance to external and internal customers across Boston Gear’s broad portfolio of product offerings, includes Speed Reducers, Gearing, Standard Enclosed Gear Drives, Custom Speed Reducers, AC / DC Motors, DC Drives, Centric Overload Clutches, and Torque Limiters. Accurately interprets technical data product specifications and end application information, enabling functional interchangeability to grow sales. Comfortable utilizing technical skills in conjunction with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to document customer interactions in the form of new contacts, leads / prospects, opportunities, quotes, etc., to win business. Expected to respond quickly to customers’ inquiries while engaging in voice of the customer (VOC) initiatives, keeping an open channel for customer ideas that expand Boston Gear’s product portfolio and market opportunities.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Competitively cross-references / interchanges products in fast-paced environmentPerforms required calculations for sizing and selection of productsResponds quickly to written inquiries from customers and prospects through current and evolving communication mediums / technologiesFields approximately 15-20 technical calls from customers and prospects, dailyProvides technical training to Customer Support staffTechnical liaison between Customers and Engineering, Sales, and Product Marketing to determine mutually beneficial engineered solutionsSupports key performance indicator (KPI) targets for telephony, customer relationship management, and response timesCoordinates activities for non-standard materials and new part creation Instigates marketing material corrections to keep catalogs and websites current based on part number specifications, prices, and other relevant informationParticipates in factory visits to cross-collaborate on strategic growth initiatives as requiredServes as designated contact for special projects and contributes to continuous improvement activitiesWorks with the Sales Management to amplify their efforts in the fieldWorks in a Business-To-Business (B2B) environmentMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
