About IPSD Division

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5,000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Application & Installation (A&I) Engineer to support the integration of industrial engines across a diverse range of OEM applications. In this role, you will work closely with CAT dealers, Perkins distributors, and direct OEM customers throughout the entire product development cycle - from concept and design to testing and production readiness.

You will provide technical expertise to support sales teams, contribute to continuous product improvement (CPI) and new product introduction (NPI) initiatives, and help ensure successful engine installations that meet customer requirements. Additionally, you will play a key role in training and enabling the Americas A&I network, while also collaborating with global teams to support the deployment of IPSD commercial engines.


What You Will Do:

Lead and support dealer, distributor, and OEM engine integration projects from concept through to production launch.    

Ensure A&I capability and readiness across the Americas dealer and distributor network.

Provide expert-level A&I support for IPSD commercial engines.to global teams and partners.

Manage A&I services and initiatives across the Americas region, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Collaborate with industrial sales teams by delivering technical A&I insights that support and drive engine sales.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with dealers and distributors throughout the Americas.

Track and manage A&I documentation using Salesforce to ensure production readiness and adherence to project timelines.


 

What You Will Have:

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in electrical, agricultural, or mechanical engineeringPrior Application & Installation (A&I) experience, including support of machine validation, integration and field testing.Hands-on experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems for engines and/or machines, including set-up calibration and performance analysis.Pre-advanced English.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

Experience working directly with dealers or end customers.Foundation in electrical and electronics systems, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and the integration of electronic components.Background in technical or solution-based sales.Strong working knowledge of machine application design, including mechanical electrical interactions, system layout, and functional characteristics.Advanced English.Proficiency in Spanish.

Additional Information 

Up 10%travel required.The primary location for this position is São Paulo, Brazil.Limited relocation assistance may be offered to the right candidate.
