Job Description
Join our Discovery Bioanalytical Team in a lab-based role where you will analyze samples from internal or external in vivo studies. Your analysis may involve method qualification or sample analysis, with a focus on providing fast turnaround times from sample analysis to data reporting.
ResponsibilitiesIndependently set up and operate LC-MS and automation instrumentation, including identifying and resolving problems.Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on instruments as necessary.Design and execute all phases of assigned projects, including sample preparation (extractions, enrichments/affinity capture, digestions), method development, and qualification for LC-MS.Troubleshoot, analyze data, and report findings.Serve as lead chemist on projects, overseeing a small group of technical staff with minimal supervision.Design experiments and provide work instructions and technical training to junior scientific staff.Communicate with clients regarding study conduct.Participate in writing, revising, and reviewing SOPs and methods to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.Ensure adherence to timelines and communicate status to management as required.Ensure compliance of study activities with study protocols, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.Set up and change instrument configurations for various LC-MS methods.Prepare data summaries for scientists to aid in client updates.Act as a technical expert for all aspects of process design and problem-solving.Essential SkillsExperience using Sciex Mass SpecExperience with Shimadzu LCExperience with Analyst SoftwareExperience with Watson SoftwareExperience analyzing plasmid samples for pre-clinical speciesB.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related life science degree2-4+ years of industry experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with high-volume work is a plusFamiliarity with Thermo Scientific Q Exactive (QE) series mass spectrometersWork Environment
You will work in a busy lab environment within a Discovery Metabolism team currently consisting of 6 members, with plans to add 2 more. Our lab has recently invested several million dollars in new instrumentation, and you will have the opportunity to shape this department and help our customers get their compounds to market. We offer a great, close-knit team atmosphere, 23 days of PTO in the first year, and paid holidays.
