As an Application Support / Site Reliability Engineer for Schwab’s Billing and Flex platforms production support team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and resiliency of several critical large/complex applications across multiple technology stacks. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about automation, operational excellence, and process improvement and will work collaboratively with a centralized Site Reliability team to define and implement consistent SRE processes and tools.
What you’re good at:
Building or supporting applications in distributed environments (LINUX/Oracle/SQL Server/WebSphere) and will be familiar with all aspects of the Systems/Software Development Life CycleCreating scripts to automate operational tasks & incorporate the solutions into infrastructureTriage alerts & diagnose/resolve critical issues, manage implementation of changesDeveloping tools, frameworks, and instrumentation to validate and increase rollout success for applications.Developing CI/CD orchestration systems to reduce friction for software delivery to production.Real-Time troubleshooting of mission critical application workflows and incorporate feedback to product development. What you haveRequired Qualifications:
2+ years building or supporting applications in distributed environments (LINUX/Oracle/SQL Server/WebSphere) and will be familiar with all aspects of the Systems/Software Development Life Cycle2+ years of experience in writing automation scripts, building application dashboards for proactive monitoring, setting up Alerts for early determination of the issues2+ years of experience practicing SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) practice, process improvementsExperience with enterprise batch scheduling, utilizing tools like Control-M and/or ESPHands on enterprise systems administration, monitoring, and deployment activitiesKnowledge of IP networking including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, IP routing, etc.Familiarity with large scale distributed systems and high-availability architecturesDevelopment experience in one or more or programming languages such as .Net, Powershell, Java, Python, BashKnowledge of one or more of SQL, NoSQL databasesKnowledge of one or more of Message Brokers such as Solace, RabbitMQ, IBM MQWorking knowledge of Splunk, AppDynamics or similar tools Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplinePreferred Qualifitcations:
