Analyzes, manages and communicates health information through clinical information systems and applications.
Primary (Essential) Duties\:
Conducts analysis of clinical and organizational needs. Identifies designs and evaluates clinical information systems and applications.Participates in the development of organizational policies and initiatives related to collecting, managing and communicating clinical information.Ensures information systems policies, procedures and technologies comply with applicable laws and regulations.Designs and delivers training materials to educate users about information technologies.Will be responsible to support the Athena computer system as a Super User for all staff, physicians and other providers.Will stay up to date on Athena updates/changes and will consistently be looking for ways to become more efficient by utilizing the Athena system.Creates new hire training schedule for Athena and ensure new staff know how to function properly on the system. Will follow up with new hires periodically through first several months of employment to ensure they are utilizing system as needed.Responsible to educate providers on any changes/updates that directly impact their interaction with the system.Will be responsible to pull metrics and reports as needed for all areas of the SJMG Clinic environment.Maintain current knowledge concerning major health IT initiatives at the Federal level, including mandates and standards associated with the Meaningful Use (MU) of electronic health records and the exchange of electronic health information.Develop a thorough understanding of the Meaningful Uses measures across the Stages of the program.Develop a thorough understanding of how the clinic based clinical systems, e.g. Athena and Meditech, will be utilized by clinicians to support MU and CIN measures.Develop a thorough understanding of relevant clinical workflows, both inpatient and outpatient that intersect with MU measures.Review Meaningful Use compliance reports and develop a program of interaction and communication with leaders and practitioners of the SJMG to support their knowledge of and adherence to MU measures.Scion Health considers a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude to be an essential function of every position.
