Application Systems Consultant

More Driven.** **Primary Purpose of the Position** The Application Systems Consultant is a technical position involving intermediate to advanced support of production application systems. The role will be heavily involved with administering the manufacturing application systems and underlying operating systems to meet customer needs. It also involves consistent collaboration with members of the applications, operating system, and database teams as well as plant personnel to ensure 24/7 system availability. Application Systems Consultants help keep production servers patched and monitored, participate in the off-hours on-call rotation, and manage helpdesk tickets as needed to provide outstanding customer service. **Principle Duties and Responsibilities** + Perform section lead responsibilities, including staff planning, performance reviews, controls reviews and application support reviews. + Will be involved with the planning, installation, patching, documentation, implementation and configuration of these Applications and related components. Will be responsible for creation of procedures to support 24/7 availability requirements. + Responsible for managing the functional/technical aspects of Solution Manager, assist during the developing and setup of the Scenario and Business Process structure. Drive the Solution Maintenance and configuration Project documentation. + Implementation of Service Desk and interface to HP Service Manager. Implementation of CHARM and OSS integration. Ensure that the SAP Solution Manager Toolset is kept in sync regarding the process. + Supports multiple production applications and/or middleware components of complex nature with little support or assistance. May be involved with support of Enterprise-wide, mission-critical applications or middleware (i.e. Boltons). **Education and Certifications** + **Required:** Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Engineering or related discipline. **Experience** + 4-6 years of experience in IT including 3-5 years’ experience in application/middleware administration preferred. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Advanced knowledge of several currently used applications or middleware components. + Understanding of networking technology, protocols and operating systems. + Strong troubleshooting skills. + Organizational skills.
