Application Technologist – (Fermented Dairy products)

Job Summary

IFF, a global leader in dairy solutions, is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate for the role of Application Technologist to join our North America’s Application team in New Century, Kansas. As an Application Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting Application scientists and application manager on the various projects, with a focus on the use of cultures in fermented dairy and plant-based products (Yogurt, butter milk, sour cream, and cream cheese). You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team that is enthusiastic about being the premier partner with our customers to create delicious and sustainable dairy products for consumers around the world.

Able to perform the application of cultures  in wide range of Fresh Fermented Products, including yoghurt, sour cream, buttermilk, and cream cheese.Assist application scientist in designing and conducting experiments to evaluate the performance and functionality of dairy cultures in different fermented dairy product matrices and processing conditions, which includes testing, analytical procedures, equipment set-up and preparation of materials.Operate various laboratory and pilot plant equipment to produce fresh fermented dairy product samples and to test the samples. Some of the tasks include the operation of pilot scale milk pasteurizer, homogenizer, fermentation tank, separator and lab scale analytical instruments.Prepare and present technical reports, presentations and product sample demonstrations to customers and internal stakeholders.Ability to learn and work on new equipment / laboratory instrument.Maintenance of the pilot plant equipment and laboratory instruments.Maintain a safe and clean work environment in their work area.Manage ingredient inventory, ordering supplies, product shipping & receiving, and managing external product testing.Ability to work under fast paced work environmentParticipate in trade shows, seminars, webinars, and other events to promote IFF's technical capabilities and product offerings. Also support the cheese application team when needed.Travel throughout the USA to visit customers and distributors, and support IFF's Dairy culture business.Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in dairy science, food science, biotechnology, or related field. Hands-on experience in laboratory and pilot plant equipment and techniques.Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and customer satisfaction. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, in English. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and customer-oriented mindset. Ability to travel up to 10 to 20% of the time and adapt to different work cultures and environments.
