Job Summary

Manages Surgical Services Information System including development, maintenance, design, and documentation of software and hardware applications.  Serves as a liaison between the surgery staff and information services.   Works under the direction of the Service Line Director of Surgical Services. Supportive role to Information Systems Management.

Education

Associate Degree or Higher and Certification in Meditech’s Healthcare Information System (Operating Room Management Dictionary Training).

 

Experience

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing surgical services medical documentation and experience as a clinical systems analyst with demonstrated competencies in the following SIS /HIS systems training strongly preferred:

Systems fundamentalsTables and filesInternet or advanced language coding in field of expertiseProject management and leadership (Meditech /Kronos/Lawson /Apex Lead Analyst)Visual C++, Visual Basic, Java (beginning knowledge of at least one equivalent language) or equivalent advanced language coding in field of expertise.MentoringSystem development competency and responsibilitiesResearch on systems applications and interfacingFiscal responsibilityProfessional affiliation/leader/certificationCustomer service leadershipSIS/HIS Analyst or Administrator

 

Additional Skills/Abilities

Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.  Must have knowledge of current standards, legislation, practices, delivery systems, documentation methods and trends in medicine.
