As the Applications Business Development Manager (BDM), you will provide technical support and training for Hydronic Cooling, Process Water, and HVAC applications in the Commercial and Industrial markets, including specific verticals like Data Centers, EV Battery facilities, and Semiconductors. This role involves supporting end-users, contractors, and engineers in system design, specification development, and field support to ensure effective product selection, installation, and operation. Based remotely near a major airport, this role requires regular travel.
You Will:
Provide technical field support, troubleshooting, and guidance for Hydronic Cooling, Process Water, and HVAC applications and associated plumbing systems.
Deliver technical training and hands-on support for installation, commissioning, operation, and field repair.
Support sales agents, end-users, engineers, and contractors in product selection and development of technical specifications for Watts solutions.
Cultivate long-term relationships with key stakeholders to drive product specifications.
Create and deliver classroom and hands-on training for end-users, contractors, engineers, and wholesale partners on product specification, selection, installation, and troubleshooting.
Develop an understanding of plumbing codes and industry standards relevant to Watts products in Hydronic Cooling, Process Water, and HVAC applications.
Represent Watts at industry events, trade shows, and standards committees.
Provide feedback to marketing, product management, and engineering to support new product development.
Serve as the voice of the customer, driving a customer-centric mindset across the organization.
Collaborate with the National Sales Manager, sales team, agent network, and channel partners to strengthen Watts' market position.
Identify and suggest improvements in processes to enhance quality and on-time delivery.
You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in technical or field sales environments.
3+ years of experience in the flow control industry, with knowledge of valve, actuation, and fluid mechanics applications.
Experience with hydronic cooling, process piping, HVAC, and actuation valves within Commercial & Industrial settings.
Project management and advanced negotiation skills.
Experience speaking in one-on-one and conference settings.
Communicate across all levels of an organization, and manage customer relationships.
Ability to effectively problem-solve, track project progress, and resolve conflicts.
Travel Required: 70%
The expected salary range for this position is $140,000 - $155,000 yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
