A Day in the LifeThe Applications Developer role is geared toward individuals with a strong background in developing web-based applications, particularly for internal business environments like law firms. The position emphasizes the importance of creating thorough documentation for all developed applications, which includes generating comprehensive data flow diagrams. This documentation is crucial for maintaining clarity across teams and ensuring that application logic and data management are transparent and well-structured.
The developer is expected to perform rigorous unit testing on applications they develop and may also support QA testing efforts on custom applications created by other team members. This collaborative approach to testing helps maintain high standards across the development team and ensures that all applications meet performance, usability, and reliability requirements.
Database expertise is critical for this role, particularly in Microsoft SQL Server (versions 2016–2022). The developer should be able to design complex database schemas, create stored procedures and views, and write sophisticated SQL statements.
