The Senior Front End Developer - FI Trade Processing is a position in which we are looking for a talented and passionate individual to join our front end development team and continue to evolve our next-generation trading application. They would lead the efforts to transition our application to smaller services, full automated CI/CD pipelines enabling faster time to market. The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to the Fixed Income Trading business and an opportunity to work on a large scale, modern technology platform with a global presence.
Responsibilities:
Develop common, reusable components and services utilizing Citi’s best practicesDesign and develop front end web applications based on business requirementsCreate high performance, low latency applications leveraging existing Citi frameworkEnsure strong reliability, scalability and performance of our componentsLiaise with technical and business teams to collaborate on identifying opportunities and solutionsDrive architecture and execute on our technical strategyPartner with business to continue to evolve our architecture roadmap beyond near term objectivesCoordinate development with both internal technology teams and businessAdhere to engineering standards and strive for best in classAssist in third line support during core trading hoursMotivate, mentor and lead technical teams, evaluate their delivery, guide the members to deliver quality output with responsible delegation and build a high performance teamTogether with the partner teams, user community, business analysts and Tech management contribute to innovative & best-in-class solutions for our businessConduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areasMonitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business usersUtilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgementRecommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionalityConsult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systemsEnsure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processesHas the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
5-8 years of relevant experience in front end design and developmentProficiency in one of the three JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue), React is the most desirable amongst these.Experience in managing and implementing successful projectsAbility to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Technical Skills:
Excellent knowledge in React JS or willingness to switch to React from Angular/Vue.Deep understanding of HTML5/CSS3Strong knowledge of JavaScript/jQuery is desiredStrong knowledge of front end testing frameworksExposure to JSON/XML and REST API based web service integrationsKnowledge and experience in C# .NET is desired.Strong knowledge in Typescript is preferred
Education:
Graduation/Post Graduation qualifications in Computer Engineering (preferable) or any Engineering stream with a very good academic record throughout. A high degree of Analytical ability and Quantitative skills is desirable
