Eaton’s EPG CHD MTL Measurement Technology Limited division is currently seeking a Applications Engineer. This role is based out of our Houston, TX facility. Relocation is not provided for this role.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $93750.03 - $137500.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you’ll do:Application Engineer – Measurement Technologies Limited (MTL) America - supports MTL customers with technical applications including help with application design with MTL products. Answers customer email inquiries on MTL products, their use in the customers application, how to install per North American codes and standards. Helps to facilitate the use of MTL’s complete product line in customer designs. Acts as the technical expert to customers to answer any questions customers may have on MTL products and their use.
Areas of Focus:
Deliver customer support as needed via email or phone calls.Be the technical expert in the complete MTL product portfolio.Support the sales channels as the technical expert to help close sales. Facilitate technical training and support other team members in product learning.Travel as required to support areas of N. America and LatAm.Train and support reps and distributors in person or via a Teams call.
In this role you will:
Influence customer decision to purchase MTL products through product and application expertise. Review customer applications and suggested MTL products as required.Examples of application assistance include calculation of cable lengths, resistance, voltage drops, capacitance and L/R ratios etc. Support the sales regions with visits to end users and channel partners. Support and provide product trainings to end users and channel partners on a quarterly basis.Monitor and respond to US customer technical inquiries in C360.Be available for phone/email support throughout the business day.Provide application feedback to the team weekly, discuss and review application issues.Identify technology platforms, product needs/gaps and provide a summary recommendation to the Product Line team or management. Qualifications:Basic (Required) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with application engineering and sales support.Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Houston, TX to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with NEC/IECEx codes (Intrinsic Safety)Product and market knowledge relative to process automation.Knowledge of process automation in a plant environment.Familiarity with field devices (transmitters for flow, temperature, pressure, level) in a plant environment.Knowledge of process loops, including 4-20mA, HART and other process variables.#LI-EE1
