Your role and responsibilities

ABB robotics have developed a range of collaborative robots (COBOTs) and we are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to support our sales team to continue to drive this for us. This is a national role, and part of the UK & Ireland sales strategy. Working across the whole of the business lines, automotive, Tier1, consumer industries and general industries through both End User and the indirect Channel, the role involves creating and supporting customer demonstrations of the products, both in the Milton Keynes facility as well as at customer sites, along with creating proposals and applications for solutions to present to the customer. These proposals and quotes (along with building the Full Cost Model and BPM) will also require any simulations and cycle time calculations to meet the customer requirements, and will be then sent to the customer directly or through the sales channel to the customer. This is a role reporting into the UK & Ireland organisation, office based in the Milton Keynes office, and a direct reporting line to the applications manager, with some reporting lines into the ABB global team.Main Responsibilities:•\tDevelops and implements solutions, product packages, and software applications with their team.•\tIdentifies and cultivates new business opportunities by proactively prospecting, networking.•\tUnderstands customer needs and requirements, and effectively communicates the ability of ABB’s solutions to address those needs.•\tCoordinates the product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value and benefits of ABB’s solutions.•\tSupports in preparing sales proposals and negotiate contracts to secure new businesses and proposes consulting services and solutions to meet customer needs•\tSupports the Application Sales Manager in preparing reports, and other sales-related information required by the business.•\tYou will be working to some business KPIs, that will be set for each year. This will part of your goals, as well as some behavioural targets from the ABB 4Cs – Collaboration, Curiosity, Courage, and Care•\tWorking with customers, you should be able to negotiate on specifications, and the technical content of a proposal•\tAs part of the ABB QCE (Quality Customer Experience) program you should maintain the highest level of engagement with existing and new customers, and strategic partnerships, developing personal relationships with partners, customers and other decision makers•\tCollaborates with the GSCs for standard cells / systems as part of an offer directly to the customer, as a whole solution of part of local value add.•\tBuilds and maintains strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within the COBOT market, internally and externally with some global reporting requirements•\tApplies standard processes and tools applicable to their own area of responsibility.•\tFollows work plans and cost estimates in their own area of responsibility and ensures quality and timely implementation within targeted cost.•\tReports inefficiencies in processes and tools.•\tConducts risk and opportunity assessments for consulting assignments and proposes and initiates actions to mitigate and control risks in one’s area of responsibility.•\tCollaborates with the team of Application Engineers and Global Product Managers to stay updated on new features, enhancements, and market trends and seeks feedback for improvement.•\tCollaborates with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and successful implementation of solutions. Work alongside your peers in the team, Personal development will be part of the annual appraisal process.•\tImplements and ensures compliance with the ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies, and processes in their assigned area.•\tEnsures adherence to all relevant internal and statutory regulations and policies.•\tEnsures integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities.•\tDemonstrates an understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) terms, concept application, reporting, and risks.
