Job Title: Applications Engineering Intern

Position Summary:

The Applications Engineering Intern will configure detailed proposals and apply efforts towards the sale and implementation of custom automated equipment for the manufacturing industries.  The Applications Engineering team utilizes a unique blend of skills to pitch innovative, and cost competitive solutions to team members and customers.  If successful these ideas become reality and are launched into the manufacturing industry.

 

Responsibilities Include:

Prepare detailed automated assembly equipment proposals. Interact with suppliers and cross functional team members to solicit input establishing project proposals Prepare process steps, concept generation, budget, and cycle time analysis Identify labor hour requirements, material requirements, risk, cost and timing for each project Obtain external quotes from vendors Understand customer expectations and convey to fellow team members. Support project kickoff, build and engineering teams with concept and customer specifics. Assist in expanding workable libraries for actual cost feedback loop to improve estimating Professional, real-time communication with team members and customers.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Currently pursuing a degree in an engineering-related field Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Comfortable with speaking technically in front of groups (co-workers & customers) Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel/Word) Experience with technical processes and equipment (Assembly, Welding, Adhesive, Machining, etc.)
