We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Applications Scientist who will participate on development of High-End microscopes. The Application engineer works at the intersection of the development, sales support and the scientific community.
Due to the extensive integration of hardware and software in all company products the successful Application Specialist develops detailed in-depth understanding of the application of our tools and the implications of using and testing software when sophisticated hardware interactions are at stake.
The Application Specialist will also provide customer and market feedback to Product Marketing and Product Execution Managers; participates on defining the needs for new applications development. This person also conducts customer demonstrations and jobs (e.g. for concept-proof of new applications), participate in technical discussions and collaborate on applications training with the customers.
Key responsibilities include, but are not exclusively:

Perform and coordinate the TEM analysis and TEM validation of the workflows developed by te Applications group. Provide consolidated test reports and feedback to the project team, suggest improvements towards the process development based on the acquired dataFeed R&D team, Product portfolio group and Product Marketing group with information and customer feedbackMaintain and nurture pool of electron microscopy, focused ion beam and microanalysis expertise (technology, methodology) for Material Science and Semiconductor marketsWork on collaboration projects with external partnersDeliver scientific publications and other technical documentation (papers, conference abstracts, application notes, Best Practice Documents)Support demos, customer jobs, customer trainingsHandle customer samples, data and related informationTranslate customer needs into workable solutions and technical specificationDeliver innovative, specific marketing and sales collateral to the Product Marketing group for incorporation into marketing, sales training and sales material.Support junior colleagues with their technical and professional developmentRequirements:
PhD or MSc in Material Science, Physics, Engineering or similarAt least 3 years’ experience with TEM analysisExperience with advanced TEM techniques is an advantage (e.g. EELS)Understanding of TEM lamella preparation processAbility to work independently as well as in the teamKnowledge of programming would be an advantageStrong communicative skills (both verbal and written)Results orientedAbility to cooperate with cross - functional and cross - cultural teams.Ability to travel both domestically as well as internationally and possession of a valid passport.Language skills (English), willing to learn Czech
