The role

As Applications Specialist, you will support the development of maintenance procedures, provide technical assistance, coordinate hammer refurbishments, and analyse Rock Tools performance onsite. You'll drive continuous improvement by training operational staff in best-practice care and maintenance of Sandvik Rock Tools.

This role requires frequent travel to Papua New Guinea, specifically Lae, Konedobu, on a 28-day on, 14-day off FIFO roster. The ideal candidate will be based on the east coast of Queensland, Australia, such as Brisbane. Flights & Accommodation is provided.

Areas of responsibility

Coach and mentor maintenance and operations teams on best practices for Sandvik drill consumables.Conduct performance reviews to drive continuous improvement and product optimisation.Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support, including access to factory resources.Collaborate with the Sandvik Lae branch on off-site logistics.Manage inventory and stock optimisation in coordination with Sandvik and company teams.Oversee warranty claims, technical feedback, and performance reporting.Lead hammer refurbishment efforts and coordinate product trials for ongoing improvements.

Your profile

You are a safety-focused professional with strong leadership, integrity, and a high level of professionalism. With good knowledge of Surface drilling tools—including Top hammer, Rotary, DTH, and RC products—you excel in training, presentations, and stakeholder engagement. Your ability to develop strategies that enhance customer satisfaction, coupled with your drive to achieve targets, sets you apart. Comfortable working independently or within a team, you bring excellent documentation, reporting, and presentation skills. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), you leverage data-driven insights to support business objectives. Must be willing and able to travel.
