Collaboration with hardware owners, instrumentation requestors, project engineers, and the Instrumentation Application Shop is critical to success in the role. Design work can be for both commercial and military applications.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for execution of laboratory and field validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services.Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent.Works together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities, planning of activities and giving explanations on technical issues.Communicates with direct team and supervisor. Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status, and research.Use engineering principles to design application of temperature, pressure, and strain sensors on development engines, both commercial and military.Collaborate with hardware owners, instrumentation requestors, project engineers, team members, and the Instrumentation Application Shop to complete design and applications.Support engine assembly, ensuring safety of instrumentation leads.Present work in design knowledge sharing meetings.Estimate and track project dates.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
