As an Applied Research Director - Quantum Networks, Executive Director within Global Technology Applied Research at JPMorgan Chase, you will have the opportunity to use your proven optical networking background to promote quantum-safe networking innovations. You will oversee the development and deployment of next-generation quantum networking infrastructures for business and use-case validations. You will lead and collaborate with a highly interdisciplinary team, consisting of researchers and engineers from different technical disciplines, located in different cities across the globe. Job responsibilities
Lead the design and development of software and hardware solutions for quantum networks Develop quantum-safe networking roadmaps in consultation with stakeholders, internal teams, and partners Work with internal and cross-functional teams to ensure R&D outcomes are compliant with best practices and firm’s cyber and technology controls Manage an interdisciplinary R&D team consisting of researchers and engineers Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Network Engineering or related disciplines 6 years of experience in R&D leadership and management role (engineering lead or R&D lead) in optical networking, telecommunications, quantum networks or related fields Proven track record in delivering technical projects, from design and system configuration to delivery, maintenance, and technical support High technical proficiency in networking systems with hands-on experience with hardware and knowledge of compute platformsPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Proven experience in building out quantum-safe solutions (e.g., quantum key distribution or post-quantum cryptography) for clients and customers Proven experience in adopting and deploying emerging technologies (e.g., AI, blockchain or quantum) in finance Graduate degree in Computer/Network Engineering or related disciplines
