Role summary:
This role is part of the site Order Engineering team responsible for designing equipment packages (diesel engine, electrical motor, turbines, gear box, valves, noise enclosure), selecting and designing its instrumentations in accordance with customer order specifications, national and international standards, and internal procedures.
The activities of the incumbent are primarily order related engineering design packages work, customer documents, customer specification review, creation of technical specification of buyouts and technical coordination of buyouts suppliers. The incumbent performs engineering packages design activities and directs the cost, on time efforts of engineering job activities in accordance with quality requirements, preparation of specific order documents and job-related calculations. The incumbent reports to the Order Engineering Manager/Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Support proposal activities include conducting pre-engineering work, determine technical scope, engineering labor, risk analysis and/or make equipment selection outside of eCPQ
Review project specification from the order transfer file and based on the needs, establish purchasing specifications for high added value components such as: Rotating machines (electrical motors, diesel engine and its accessories, steam turbine, speed reducer/multiplier), lubrication units, valves or auxiliary pumps, control panels, valves or auxiliary pumps
Perform instrumentation engineering activities including P&ID, Instrument datasheets, block diagram, logic diagram, cause and effect diagram, instrument, wiring diagrams in accordance with customer requirements
Coordinate the interface of buyouts suppliers and the project team for the technical scope
Coordination and validation of the associated technical documentation
Coordinate, in our workshops, the wiring services for pumping units, particularly diesel units
Validate, in the workshop or at our suppliers, the proper functioning of diesel engines and control pannels
Provide technical support to the workshop and others departments involved in a project (supply chain, quality, design office, methods, commissioning, warranty, testing)
Provide primary customer interface/support to other internal functions, providing technical guidance to clarify project requirements
Participate in the inspection of supplier when required in France or abroad
Requirements:
The role requires a technical or engineering degree in electromechanics with 3 to 5 years of experience
Proven experience with rotating machines (electrical motors, diesel engine and its accessories, steam turbine, speed reducer/multiplier),
Experience in PLC programming, electrical diagrams, control pannels, PID, logic diagrams
Familiar with ATEX, DESP, NFPA standards
Preferred experience in the firefighting and nuclear applications
Fluent in French and English
