As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro1-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.

About the Role

You will have the opportunity to engage with engineers from various departments. Your primary task will be to create procedural documentation, for areas such as testing, interface control, and schematics. This role requires someone with an outgoing personality, strong communications skills and attention to detail.

Primary Responsibilities 

Perform system level software regression tests.Create, update and manage software testing utilities to verify and validate systems level functionsGenerate and revise Applied Systems documentation, such as systems specifications, interface control documents, schematics, test procedure documents, following Wescam change control processIdentify, troubleshoot, record and disposition software and hardware issues found in factory or reported by customers. Write thorough reports documenting the results of those tests as well as those performed by othersSupport other members of the team. Activities may include purchase order processing, regression test, documentation update, communication with and support to internal and external parties, simulation products development support and test, and other duties as assigned.Organize, coordinate and track compliance status of requirement verification activitiesOccasionally use electronic equipment such as digital oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.

Required Capabilities 

Excellent report writing skillsAdvanced knowledge of MS Office applications Ability to work with many engineers to coordinate interdepartmental effortsKnowledge and experience with programming languages, for example, C, C++, C#Knowledge about software interface and communication protocolsGood organizational and planning skillsExperience with electro-mechanical systems, optic or laser devices is an asset but not required

Desired Education and Experiences 

Enrollment in a Bachelors or Advanced degree in Engineering or Science program Must be able to complete a 16 month Co-Op term with 12 month terms occasionally being available
