About the role
As an Appraiser II at our Intact Service Centre, you will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage and meeting service standards when settling claims and investigating losses. This is a technical Auto Damage appraisal position which is responsible for evaluating mechanical and/or physical damage to vehicles, monitoring repair shop quality while delivering legendary customer service.
This role is based out of our Calgary Service Centre which is located at 2220 32 Ave NE Bay 7.
What you'll do here:
Prepare damage repair estimates to Regular Auto of all makes and models through direct and in-person contact with insureds, claimants, and service providers using manual and automated appraisal systemsWhen applicable, prepare total loss evaluations and facilitate salvage disposalWithin established authority, assess reparability and produce a damage appraisal in order to negotiate settlements with vendors and or insuredsCompose summary reports on claims transactions and settlements and, if necessary, formulate recommendations for further actionConduct quality re-inspections to ensure satisfactory completion of repairsMaintain effective communication channels with all claims departmentsEstablish and maintain productive business relationships with customers, repair facilities and other service providersMaintain current knowledge of insurance products as well as appraisal and investigation techniques and servicesOpportunity to support with other appraisal tasks outside of the Service CentreWhat you bring to the table:
5+ years experience in collision repair or collision estimatingComprehensive knowledge of automobile construction and repair proceduresAble to provide a valid drivers license and 5-year clear drivers abstractAutomotive Technical Certification preferredLegendary customer service skills with an ability to build positive working relationshipsStrong analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsEffective verbal communication skills with experience in interviewing and dealing with insureds combined with exceptional written communication skills to draft claims reportsComputer literate and capable of navigating through multiple systems.Flexibility to work on site, full time, on a rotating schedule between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm, Monday – Friday and 9:00am - 5:00pm on SaturdayWhat we offer
