About The Position
Due to continued growth, BGIS are seeking a capable and customer-centric Electricians & Apprentice Electricians to join our dynamic Trades team in Dunedin. These are hands-on roles supporting both residential and commercial environments, where quality workmanship and a “do it once, do it right” approach are valued.
We also welcome applications from individuals who have Completed their Pre-trade Certificate in Electrical and are looking to commence their apprenticeship.

Key Responsibilities
Perform Preventative and Reactive Maintenance: Conduct routine servicing and repairs across a mix of residential and commercial sites, ensuring client systems remain functional and compliant. Install and Upgrade Electrical Systems: Execute installations for new systems, lighting, switchboards, or electrical infrastructure in line with industry standards and customer requirements. Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work alongside other trades such as plumbers, carpenters, painter-decorators, and site managers to deliver integrated service outcomes. Support Project and Renovation Works: Contribute to the successful delivery of building renovations and infrastructure upgrade projects from planning through to completion. Adhere to Safety and Compliance Standards: Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety protocols, New Zealand Electrical Code regulations, and BGIS internal standards. Client Relationship Management: Maintain clear, professional communication with both government and private sector clients to build trust and ensure satisfaction.What You’ll Bring
Must hold a valid New Zealand Electrical Registration and Practising Licence Demonstrated hands-on experience working in residential, commercial, and/or renovation environments, with a key focus of relevant electrical practices. Experience in residential maintenance, upgrades, or renovation projects Sound knowledge of Health & Safety practices and compliance obligations Ability to use mobile apps and digital systems for time, task, and reporting management New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry (or equivalent recognised qualification) A Full (Class 1) New Zealand Driver Licence and reliable transportWhat We Offer
