Job DescriptionPosition Summary
Work will consist of installations, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry.Job Responsibilities
Assist electricians by performing tasks under the direct supervision of an electrician actually installing the work and handling the bulk of the materials. This employee should keep all materials, tools, and equipment in an orderly fashion and keep the work area clean at all times. An apprentice electrician demonstrates safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment.Conduit bendingInstalling electrical equipment - switchgear, panels, and startersPulling and terminating wireInstalling light fixturesInstallation of lighting controlsInstallation of all types of devicesTroubleshoot many electrical systemsRead and comprehend Safety Rules and Policies and MSDS sheetsPosition Requirements
Must have transportation to workHigh School Graduate, or equivalent (Preferred)Able to work in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snowEmployees must always have the required tools with themWork from all type ladders (step ladders up to 14’, “A” frame ladders, and all size extension ladders) and relocate up to 12’ step ladder by oneselfPerform work at various heights and up to 90 ft. from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or other safe work areasWork in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics)Always wear personal protective equipment (hard hats and safety glasses) and a respirator when requiredRepetitive use of arms, hands, and fingersAble to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required, and night shiftsWilling to apply for and maintain a State of Texas Electrical Apprentice License.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regular travel to properties/construction sites is requiredRegular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects more than 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required. Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job
