The opportunity: 

We are seeking an Apprentice Gluing Machine Operator to train and perform all duties of a Machine Operator, including make ready and effective running of the gluing machines to their optimum potential. The role involves ensuring stringent adherence to quality standards, delivering a quality product to customers on time, and working safely in compliance with established safe systems. Additionally, the candidate will lead a small work crew.

How you will impact Smurfit-Westrock: 

Safety and Reporting: Work safely, encourage health and safety procedures, and report accidents, dangerous occurrences, and non-conformances.Maintenance and Housekeeping: Maintain machinery and equipment, keep work areas clean, and ensure high housekeeping standards.Collaboration and Fault Management: Collaborate with engineering to log faults, participate in fault-finding, and correct machine malfunctions.Machine Operation: Prepare and run machines to meet quality standards, follow working systems, and achieve production targets and KPI’s.Process Improvement: Continuously enhance operational processes to reduce errors, increase efficiency, and maintain high-quality standards.Efficiency and Improvement: Maximize machine efficiency, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and provide cover for process operatives.Documentation: Log and record duties in SFDC.
