We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our growing team as an Apprentice Planner.

Overview

Over a 4  year period (this does not include EPA period), we provide bespoke training for our Planners of the future along with on-the-job mentoring and learning.  When not being fully supported on a site/office you will attend a local college or apprenticeship provider.

What you will be studying

You will study towards a Level 6 Project controls professional apprenticeship  achieved through a combination of university/college work and gathering work-based experience and evidence.

Academic Requirements

The apprenticeship is a level 6 and requires you to have completed either 3  A Levels, a BTEC or a level 3 apprenticeship to qualify or equivalent qualifications.

Role Summary

To support the Regional Design and Planning Manager and project delivery team in managing the design of complex and multiple construction projects through planning phases. 

What you will be doing 

You will support the planning process of tenders, pre-construction and project delivery for large scale construction projects, and play a vital role as you assist the planning team in meeting timelines and objectives and ensuring work is on schedule. Using specialist software to develop programmes and schedules required for large scale construction projects and key activities, you’ll monitor and report on the lifecycle of projects, including key milestones and risk management. Familiarising yourself with the planning processes and best practice guidance and supporting the planning function to ensure each programme is executed to the highest standard, you’ll actively build working relationships with teams, clients, subcontractors and your peers. We’ll expect you to be involved in maintaining programme changes and variations, reviewing project programmes and identifying opportunities to increase commercial profit. You’ll also review tender scope information to understand projects and visit sites to understand building services installations and output levels.

You will enjoy learning new things, have a curious nature, be a superb communicator and you won’t be afraid to ask questions. Organised, reliable and professional, and a problem solver with the ability to think logically, you’ll have the initiative to start and complete tasks. It’s important that you possess good time management skills and are able to prioritise your work to meet agreed deadlines As you may be required to travel to different sites, ideally you will hold a full driving licence or have your test booked before August 2025
