**Apprentice Plumber**
**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced Apprentice Plumber with 3-6 years of commercial plumbing experience. The candidate must hold a valid plumbing license. This role involves working extensively with sanitary cast iron and PVC, soft soldering and brazing copper, and setting up fixtures. The position requires experience with schedule 40 threaded pipes and working with copper sizes above 1 inch.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist in the assembly, installation, and repair of plumbing systems according to specifications and trade codes.
+ Help load, unload, transport, and furnish materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to experienced craft workers.
+ Clean work areas and restock supplies and materials.
+ Layout and mark positions of pipes and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using rulers, levels, and plumb bobs.
+ Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and fittings using hand and power tools.
+ Assist in digging, backfilling, and tamping ditches using shovels, picks, and tampers.
+ Cut, ream, solder copper tubing/piping, braze, solvent weld, fuse, groove, and thread pipes.
+ Assemble and install valves, pipes, and fittings composed of various metals and non-metals.
+ Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, solvent, and caulk joints.
+ Fill pipe systems with water or air and read gauges to determine system integrity.
+ Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, urinals, water heaters, and water softeners.
+ Assist plumbers, welders, sheet metal workers, or HVAC workers as needed.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3-6 years of commercial plumbing experience.
+ Valid plumbing license.
+ Experience working with sanitary cast iron and PVC.
+ Soft soldering and brazing copper.
+ Experience with schedule 40 threaded pipes.
+ Ability to work with copper sizes above 1 inch.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to work under close supervision.
+ Proficient in using hand and power tools.
+ Capable of reading and interpreting gauges.

**Work Environment**
You will be working on construction sites, primarily on projects located downtown. The standard work schedule is from 7am to 4pm. The role involves physical labor and requires adherence to safety protocols at all times.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00
