Summary Statement
Supports operations and customer service at swimming facilities by assisting customers and providing help to staff at various locations, as needed. Assists the Aquatic Specialist and Aquatic Sports Coordinator in completing daily tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Employees in this position must be 19 years of age or older. This position is performed under direct supervision.
This position is designated as At-Will.
Essential Functions
Helps support daily programming including swim team practices and meets, swim lessons, public swim, and pool facility rentals.
Delivers janitorial and office supplies to facilities when needed. Provides feedback to facility managers to ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and safe at all times.
Attends daily swim meets to ensure efficiency and maintains league procedures.
Assists in onboarding staff and staff training, including staff in-service.
Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
+ High School diploma and
+ 2 years of experience with aquatic programs and/or sports leagues,
+ or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Knowledge of:
+ general customer service and de-escalation techniques.
Ability to:
+ complete assignments in an efficient manner;
+ understand and comply with all rules, policies, and regulations;
+ maintain prompt and regular attendance;
+ communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; and
+ perform all essential functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor, and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation.
Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
+ 4 or more years working in an aquatic environment that included swim teams.
+ 4 or more years teaching or managing swim lessons.
Licensing And Other Requirements
+ Valid state-issued driver's license.
+ Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification through the City of Boise or equivalent certifying institution within three months of employment.
Special Requirements
Applicants must be able to pass:
City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
Driving Record Check

Appointment to this position is contingent upon a negative pre-employment drug test.
This position is required to supervise employees during the performance of critical incident functions which require employees to qualify to carry firearms, perform emergency medical, lifesaving, and/or fire suppression activities.

Physical Efforts
While performing the duties of this job the employee is always lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Also, the employee is occasionally pushing/pulling up to 35 pounds and rarely pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. The noise level is frequently moderate and rarely loud. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear, smell and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, climb and balance. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
Working Environment
The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures and in wet and humid conditions. Employees work in/at heights. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position. Work includes protected exposure to bodily fluids.
This position works: weekends, evenings, and holidays as programs require.
19-Hour Temporary
All temporary part-time employees working less than an average of 19-hours per week are not currently eligible for benefits.
4-Month Temporary
All 4-month temporary employees working an average of 40-hours per week will accrue personal leave which can be used during employment.
8-Month Seasonal
In addition to accruing personal leave, anyone in an 8-month seasonal position working over an average of 30-hours per week is eligible for medical coverage.
9-Month Temporary
In addition to personal leave accrual and medical coverage, a position that is classified as a 9-month temporary is eligible for PERSI retirement benefits.
