Summary This position is located at: Fort Campbell, Community Recreation Division Aquatics Branch. Responsibilities Provides overall supervision of the aquatic programs, including the daily operation and supervision of the recreational programs, personnel, and classes at aquatic facilities. Responsible for planning and administering a wide range of aquatic activities, including special events, clinics, intramural aquatic swim meets and other safety, fitness and recreation certification and educational programming. Plans and establishes an aquatic certification curriculum to include lifeguarding, lifeguard instructor, water safety instructor, water fitness instructor, and swim lessons. Responsible for Appropriated Fund and Non-Appropriated Fund budget for assigned facilities and programs, as well as for purchasing materials, equipment, and program supplies. Coordinates with the MWR marketing department to publicize aquatic events. Develops and updates Standard Operating Procedures for aquatic facilities, programs and enforces policies. Plans and executes data collection for the Department of Defense and Department of Army MWR standard reports. Establishes and executes processes to evaluate the effectiveness of the aquatic programs. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualification Requirements are: Possesses demonstrated experience in planning, administering and executing aquatic programs. This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor aquatic programs and facilities. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level. An undergraduate or graduate degree in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology may be substituted for six (6) months of the required work experience. Ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment, and maintain, the following certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED Lifeguard Instructor (Red Cross) Water Safety Instructor (Red Cross) Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) In addition, for facilities that use Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the O2 Administration Certification (Red Cross or Installation offered training) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty. Applicants meeting the following will be considered Highly Preferred: 1. Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (Red Cross) 2. Water Safety Instructor Trainer (Red Cross) 3. Equipment Repairer (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair) 4. Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification OR Aquatic Exercise Association Instructor 5. Adapted Aquatics Instructor 6. SCUBA Diving Instructor (PADI, NAUI, YMCA or equivalent) **Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
