Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Job Captain to join our Mission Critical (Data Center) or healthcare studio. This role involves working closely with both design and technical teams to coordinate efforts with subconsultants, produce construction document (CD) set drawings, and mentor entry-level staff. The projects you will support range from data centers and industrial facilities to hospitals.

ResponsibilitiesModify or create implementation documents and complex drawings with limited guidance, applying architectural techniques and procedures requiring independent judgment.Coordinate design group interaction both internally and externally, including assisting with consultant team work sessions.Manage project work of the architectural team as appropriate.Perform design computations and document preparation, maintaining the information flow to the project team to reflect the design intent in implementation documents and coordinating with consultants to confirm systems work.Assist with review, modification, and coordination of implementation documents prior to issue, collaborating to validate that code and zoning requirements for assigned segment of project are met.Execute deliverables according to scope of services and our standards, best practices, and quality expectations.May attend client or consultant meetings.Participate in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues, and coordination with other disciplines.Recognize the financial aspect of a project and basic accounting principles involved in the project’s and firm’s profitability.Be accountable for the financial implications of overhead and chargeable time, including adherence to the project plan and planned utilization rate.Understand the importance of growing and maintaining client relationships and the basic concept of business development.May assist in the pursuit of new project opportunities through relationship development or identifying additional work from existing clients.Essential SkillsExperience with Revit is a must.Experience consulting with clients and stakeholders for project deliverables.Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust have a BS or MS in Architecture.Licensed Architect for PA is highly preferred, although exceptions can be made in specific cases.Work Environment

Our team operates on a flexible schedule combining in-office and remote work (usually 3 days in the office). However, during the first 30 days, we prefer new employees to be in the office for 4+ days to acclimate to the firm and team members. We foster a collaborative environment, utilizing our NYC, DC, and Richmond, VA offices to staff all projects. Additionally, we offer plans to offset the costs of licenses and provide additional compensation to offset parking benefits if needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $57.00/hr.
