Join us. **Job Description** AECOM is seeking a **Design Architect** to join our growing Buildings + Places Architecture team in Quebec. This opportunity is based out of our **Montreal, QC** office within a hybrid-work environment. Working under the Supervising Architect you will lead teams in the design of projects from concept through to construction, with a focus on design and technical excellence. We are not just building structures; we are building a brighter future for all. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, lead the design of projects of varying complexity within approved schedules and budgets. + Develop or assist in the development of studies, programs, concepts, preliminary, and final plans and specifications for projects of varying type and scale + Prepare, review, and approve drawings, specifications and other documentation as required. These will range from design presentation documents to technical documents for building permit, tender and construction. + Ensure designs are developed in compliance with client program of requirements and in compliance with local codes, standards and applicable regulations. + Ensure designs are developed in accordance with AECOM processes, design and quality standards. + Lead project coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, both internal to AECOM and external. + Interface with clients, authorities and other project participants as needed to achieve a successful project. + Lead, in conjunction with Supervising Architect, project teams and provide mentorship and training to younger staff. + Work with AECOM design offices across the country, including participation in project teams and overall development of the design and technical quality of AECOM projects. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the below requirement, at a very minimum: + A University Degree in Architecture plus four years (4) of experience working within an Architectural practice, including experience within an Architectural practice in Québec. + Bilingual in English and French, with ability to complete technical documents in both languages. The selected candidate may be required to assist with projects outside Québec on occasion and work with clients outside Québec. + Familiarity with the B-1.1 Building Act, notably the applications of the Quebec Construction Code along with other pertinent codes and regulations. + Licensed Architect with the Ordre des architects du Quebec (OAQ), or in the process of obtaining license. + Proficiency in Autodesk REVIT, AutoCAD and the suites MS Office and Adobe Creative. Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered. See below for preferred requirements. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Prefer 6 – 8 years of experience working within an Architectural practice, including experience within an Architectural practice in Québec. + Familiarity with researching local zoning and other bylaws requirements for local jurisdictions, and application to project requirements + Strong verbal and written communication abilities + Experience in institutional, transit, public safety/defence, heritage, and industrial projects. + Sustainable Design experience including zero carbon design and familiarity with the CAGBC Zero Carbon Building program. + Experience in delivering projects in an Integrated Design Process (IDP) environment + Experience in delivering projects with the use of a construction management software such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) + Certifications in LEED, WELL, PASSIVE HOUSE or similar accreditation + Proficiency in rendering, presentation and analytical software such as SketchUp, Grasshopper, Rhino **Additional Information** + Security Clearance may be required on a project-specific basis.
