Juniper Networks has an immediate opening for a team-oriented, highly effective, and self-motivated Senior Architect, part of the Global Technical Architecture and Solutions team. Architects are part of the Juniper GTM (Go to Market) Team and have a primary responsibility to partner with the CTO office, Product Management, and engineering on driving technical sales activities for opportunities in forward-looking and emerging technologies as well as new network evolutions. Architects possess in-depth, hands-on expertise with Juniper's products, and solutions as well as other open-source or 3rd party technologies that complement Juniper’s vision in the Cloud Infrastructure space. Architects are well known in the industry and participate in talks as well as standardization activities (IETF, NANOG, GSMA, ORAN etc.). 

What You’ll Do: 

Collaborate with Sales to articulate the value of our AI/ML Infrastructure, Datacenter, and WAN Networking solutions. 

Technically qualify large opportunities and advise Sales on the recommended well-known approach. 

Lead the end-to-end Networking Infrastructure architecture, ensuring customer requirements are met. 

Lead the technical solution and customization in complex deals, coordinating with Specialists, Technical Resources, Engineering, and Product Management. 

Provide insights on HW and SW configurations and best practices for successful project implementation. 

Develop partnerships with Integrators and key partners to solve complex problems 

Deliver compelling Demos and Proof of Concepts, articulating value propositions. 

Translate customer objectives into technical requirements and drive internal features and solutions. 

Shape/customize solutions across the entire company portfolio (products, services, solutions) with necessary third-party components and offered as either CAPEX or SaaS, and IaaS. Close alignment with product management. 

Articulate technical value, present solutions, and overcome objections. 

Ensure smooth knowledge transfer to the delivery team. 

Size, design, configure, and price technical solutions using industry best practices. 

Act as an expert on JUNOS, MPLS, RSVP, MPLS-SR, SRv6, L2VPN, L3VPN, multicast, EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, CoS, datacenter, and virtualization concepts and principles. 

Utilize in-depth knowledge of Juniper products such as JUNOS, MX, PTX, QFX, SRX, EX, ACX, VMX, VSRX, Mist, and Apstra platforms along with expertise with SDN and NFV to partner with sales account managers to position products and solutions. 

Utilize knowledge of merchant silicon technologies and architectures (e.g., Broadcom Trident, Tomahawk, Jericho, etc.) and respond with competitive solutions to meet customer’s business requirements. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

Extensive pre-sales experience in selling high-end networking equipment and solutions, with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to connect technical solutions to business requirements, is essential. 

15+ years of experience in Hyperscale/AI Networking Infrastructure, IP routing, and Ethernet switching, with hands-on knowledge in designing large-scale networks, data center IP Fabrics, SDN environments, and merchant silicon technologies. 

An advanced degree in technology or equivalent 

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate on complex technical and sales topics and build relationships with C-level executives and technical decision-makers in client and partner organizations. 

Formal or informal technical sales leadership or mentoring is desired. 

The candidate should have expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience in multiple technical domains, including: 

Designing and operationalizing large-scale IP/MPLS based Core/Access/Metro/Edge networks and MPLS-TE (Traffic-Engineering). 

Designing hyperscale Datacenter IP Fabrics, EVPN/VXLAN Fabrics, and DCI solutions. 

Overlay protocols such as MP-BGP, EVPN, and tunneling technologies such as VXLAN, MPLS, SR/SRv6. 

Understanding the architecture and benefits of Juniper ACX, MX, PTX, QFX Series, or equivalent competitor products. 

Knowledge of merchant silicon networking ASICs (Trident, Tomahawk, Jericho, etc.), their features, and competitive positioning. 

Experience with network provisioning and automation (Apstra, Paragon, or equivalent competitive products). 

Familiarity with network monitoring and manageability using Netconf, REST APIs, YANG, and telemetry. 

Proficiency in virtualization technologies on x86 and scaling using technologies like DPDK, SR-IOV, SmartNICs, etc. 

Experience with open networking switch hardware (Whitebox) and related software like SONiC, FRR, etc. 

Experience preparing RFP/Tender response documents like compliance to the RFP, bill of materials, commercial/pricing, and solution documents to drive a successful response. 

Additional Requirements 

Formal or informal technical sales leadership or mentoring is desired 

JNCIE or equivalent expert-level industry-standard certifications is desired  

Programming - exposure and familiarity with API's, Postman, JSON, Python, etc. is desired 

This position may involve up to 50% travel, including the opportunity for international travel few times a year on a short notice 

About the Job For this role, the candidate would preferably be based near Sunnyvale, CA, however, we may consider good candidates near a major USA airport.

Minimum Salary: $284,000.00

Maximum Salary:$408,250.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $284,000.00 and $408,250.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
