Your Role
As a Gensler Architect, you will collaborate with a team of architects and interior designers to develop design solutions and coordinate the design through the construction administration phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to develop interior design solutions, translate sketches and documents into realized 3D models and construction drawings, and research technical issues when they arise. You have coordinated with consultants such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineers on pushing forward design-driven solutions. What You Will Do
Design and plan complex interior architectural projects of varying types Work in all phases of design through construction administration Manage and lead the client, the design team, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives. Ideally, have Design-Build Project Experience Produce BIM models and construction drawings in Revit Resolve challenging technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative, technical, and constructible solutions. Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development for both interiors and core & shell projects. A quick learner with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment Effective communicator, collaborative, and team conscious. Provide Mentorship and coaching to grow junior staff members Participate in office culture and drive office initiatives Interest in growing outside of project work, including participating with the local design community and/or professional organizations
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior architecture. 5+ years of experience in the profession of commercial interior architectural design. Experience collaborating across multiple aspects of a project: client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants. Experience resolving complex technical and design issues. Proficiency in REVIT, Sketch Up, and construction administration software. 100% bilingual English/Spanish, well written with excellent verbal communication skills. Understanding of how buildings are constructed and the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done. Mid-scale to large construction experience. Experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills. Construction documentation and/or design detail development experience. Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, grace, and emotional intelligence. Experience leading, managing, and mentoring multiple project teams.Life at Gensler
