ResponsibilitiesThe Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the IT infrastructure of the organization. This role involves working closely with other IT professionals, business leaders, and external vendors to ensure that the infrastructure supports the organization's goals and objectives. The Infrastructure Architect will develop and maintain technology standards, provide strategic guidance, and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Architecture:
Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture plans for domain specific IT infrastructure. Design scalable, secure, and reliable IT systems Ensure alignment of infrastructure architecture with current and future business objectives and technology standards. Design systems that can easily scale with the growth of the organization. Oversee implementation of flexible solutions that can adapt to changing business requirements.
Implementation and Management:
Oversee the configuration and management of hardware and software, and the monitoring of system performance, security, and availability.
Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with business leaders to understand current and future infrastructure needs. Develop long-term strategies for infrastructure growth and improvement. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovations.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure implementation of robust security measures to protect data and systems. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Optimizing Performance and Efficiency:
Design infrastructure for optimal performance and reliability. Utilize resources efficiently to reduce costs and improve productivity.
Improving Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
Develop and implement effective disaster recovery plans. Ensure infrastructure can quickly recover from failures to maintain business continuity.Facilitating Integration and Interoperability:
Ensure different systems and applications can work together seamlessly. Promote the use of standards and best practices for interoperability.
Supporting Innovation and Agility:
Provide a robust foundation for deploying new technologies and applications. Enable quick adaptation to market changes and new business opportunities.
Enhancing User Experience:
Design infrastructure that supports efficient and user-friendly IT services. Ensure high availability and minimal downtime for critical systems.
Cost Management and Optimization:
Manage and optimize infrastructure costs while ensuring high performance and reliability. Architect cost-effective solutions and optimize existing resources.
Documentation and Standards:
Create and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, and processes. Document and enforce infrastructure standards and guidelines. Develop reusable domain specific patterns. Document and maintain technology domain roadmaps. Create and maintain domain specific products & capabilities.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors. Ensure clear communication and alignment of infrastructure projects with business objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience as an Infrastructure Architect or similar role.Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including hardware and softwareKnowledge of security best practices and regulatory requirements.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal/collaboration/teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications, such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
